Job Description

Whistler Olympic Park is a world-class destination for outdoor recreation activities & Nordic sports, located just south of Whistler in the stunning Callaghan Valley. Established for the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, the Park’s incredible facilities are now enjoyed by both high-performance athletes and recreational guests alike.

Day Lodge Attendant supports campground operations at Whistler Olympic Park by possessing strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Duties include visitor inquiries, guest check-in/out, issue resolution, cash handling, daily reporting, general sales/retail support while ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Seasonal Full Time role requires the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Operations

  • Administer individual guest and group reservations
  • Provide high level guest service including being courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, informative as well as issue resolution and providing park information to guests
  • Monitor and assist up-keep and cleanliness of guest areas, including washrooms, guest service reception, and all other guest areas on site as needed
  • Share and communicate park usage rules and regulations with guests and ensure compliance when required
  • Operate point of sale including cash handling and daily cash outs.
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies for guest operations indoors and outdoors are functioning, stocked and replenished as required
  • Follow and communicate to guests Whistler Olympic Park’s wildlife management program
  • Perform routine campsite and trail inspections ensuring cleanliness and appealing amenities are standard
  • Support other operational colleagues when required
  • Review daily reports pertaining to campground occupancy, assisting with check-ins and check-outs when necessary
  • Communicate issues and items to appropriate colleagues for resolution

Safety

  • Adhere to WorkSafeBC, Technical Safety BC and applicable governing agency’s safety regulations
  • Assist Managers in development and enforcement of safety procedures
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Respond to emergency situations and communicating with park colleagues/management for immediate safety and/or operational concerns.

Customer Service and Culture

  • Positive representative of Whistler Sport Legacies, both internally and externally
  • Respond to guest inquiries and concerns
  • Liaise and cross-share information with WOP teams
  • Communicate important and time-sensitive operational and organizational messages to colleagues and attend meetings as required
  • Champion and adhere to all WSL corporate policies and procedures
  • Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy: All Interactions Matter
  • Assist the team with other duties as assigned or required
  • Take personal accountability and responsibility for actions, and take initiative to find creative solutions to problems or issues
  • Resolve conflicts effectively and efficiently in a professional manner

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Prior customer service experience an asset
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required
