Community Engagement Lead Job at Routes Connecting Communities
Purpose
Routes is seeking a Community Engagement Worker to engage residents and agencies in the community,develop initiatives, outreach, and coordinate meetings with a variety of stakeholder in support of the Newmarket Community Action Table project.
Usual Office Hours
Monday to Friday with evening and weekend work as required. Travel within Newmarket required, remote work from home when not in the community
Responsibilities:
Newmarket CAT Project
· Recruit and support the Resident Ambassadors
· Work with Residents to implement neighbourhood activities along with residents and service providers
· Provide support to residents in completing reporting post neighbourhood activities
· Establish and maintain communication pathways to ensure resident interests are incorporated into community work
· Conduct outreach and be present in the community; represent the Community Action Table at community events
· Establish and foster effective relationships and partnerships with priority sectors that indirectly or directly address mental health and wellbeing and housing
· Use needs assessments to animate initiatives and programs that are responsive to local and emergent needs, and enhance the qualityof life of residents
· Lead community engagement activities based on community needs and assets
· Plan and lead community meetings and events as required to further advance the work of the Newmarket CAT
· In collaboration with the Community Engagement Coordinator –Georgina facilitate social media connections and promotion of Community Action Table initiatives
· Provide administrative support to the Newmarket CAT and its working groups.
Requirements:
-BSW, MSW, SSW, MPH, or relevant qualifications and experience in community development
-Experience in the social services, community engagement, data tracking and evaluation
-Proficiency with social media and digital platforms such as MS Office
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork approach
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
