The Opportunity:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (RN) role will be serving our Home Office location in Edmonton, Alberta. Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Nurse Consultant (RN) is responsible for managing, overseeing and the overall direction of all nursing and health care of Residents based on established clinical nursing best practice standards. This includes the development and review of Wellness Strategies as the Clinical Subject Matter expert, providing training on clinical processes and practices, developing plans to meet quality assurance objectives. This position manages various initiatives/programs and services. A major emphasis of this position is to ensure that health services/clinical programs are designed to maintain and improve the wellbeing and overall wellness of residents.

- Provides leadership to the team to ensure they understand and are committed to achieving person directed services and maintain our Culture of service delivery
- Supports the Resident’s lifestyle in their Community environment in accordance with the Resident’s individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare
- Ensures the performance of duties and services as specified in the Care/Service Plan
- Manages the activities of the Care Team and Communities effective two-way communication with all parties involved in care
- Apply the concern resolution process in a timely manner as required
- Respond to concerns/ issues and conduct appropriate incident investigations as they relate to care/services within the Community and with Stakeholder such as Alberta Health Services
- Follows and enforces the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies
- Ensure adequate and competent care partners are available to support the care services that are required within the Community
- Ensure Wellness Strategies are reviewed for resident care and quality and risk. It is important they remain current and effective for the delivery of core clinical and resident care programs, processes, expectations, and regulatory compliance
- Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational plans/policies/procedures/education which support the Vision, Mission, Culture and EDEN Service delivery model
- Fostering the innovation and integration of high-quality resident-focused services by establishing and maintaining strong work relationships with relevant partners and stakeholders
- Support Community Management and Director of Operations in preparing for internal and external audits
- Provide guidance to Community Management, Operations Managers and Director of Operations as a Clinical Subject Matter expert
- Facilitate training in leadership roles on clinical process and practices which includes orientation of Wellness Leadership teams and Operations
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:
- Graduate of a recognized RN program required
- Registered and in good standing with their related Licensing Body (CARNA)
- Valid Certification in First Aid and CPR
- At least 5 years’ experience in healthcare, preferably in continuing care
- Minimum 2 years management experience leading operation teams to high levels of performance required
- Proven analysis and presentation skills including use of common tools such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software required
- Facilitation and conflict resolution experience required
- Yardi experience is preferred
