Footholds Therapy Center is currently seeking child and youth workers that are ready to work alongside an amazing team of people that are passionate about seeing our unique youth flourish and have fun learning!

Inspired by children and families, Footholds Therapy Center combines clinical judgement with compassion and hope to create a therapeutic environment in which goals are realized. We are a growing locally owned and family run therapy center that has been operating in Nanaimo and the Comox Valley for over ten years.

Footholds Child and Youth Workers provide support to children and youth with challenging behaviours, high medical needs, autism, and youth at risk. Working in a residential setting, they will follow Footholds Guiding Principles closely, providing social-emotional and physical needs by performing duties such as assisting with personal hygiene, preparing meals and advocating for the child by acting in the best interest.

We'll be looking for:

• Post secondary degree, diploma, or training in a related field or

experience working with special needs learners

• A positive, giving attitude and an expectation of seeing kids develop their awesomeness

• First aid certification

• A clear criminal record

• Organizational and time management skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Compassion, empathy, and patience

• Flexibility and an ability to work in a variety of settings

You can expected to:

• Have lots of fun interactions with coworkers and kiddos

• Implement provided therapy programming and goals

• Work directly with brilliant Behavioural Consultants and Lead Therapists

• Work with learners in 1-1 and group settings

• See kids lives impacted

• Work independently and as part of a team

• Document client and goal progress

• Communicate session summary to grateful families

• Work under pressure in high energy environments

• Abide by Footholds policies and code of ethics

• Attend staff meetings and training sessions in evenings

• Feel fulfilled by the work you are doing

• Demonstrate awesome social, behavioural, and communication skills
