St. Jacobs Place Retirement Residence offers luxury retirement and assisted living in Ontario's rural gem, the village of St. Jacobs, at the northern edge of Kitchener Waterloo. We are a lovely intimate size with only 50 suites, permitting time to really get to know our Residents and their families.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Cleaning, dusting, sanitizing Resident's suites and public areas of the residence.
• Clean suites vacated by Residents and prepare suites for incoming Residents.
• Collect refuse from throughout the community and properly dispose or recycle.
• Wash and dry laundry following established laundry procedures.
• Fold laundry as required, sort and deliver personal laundry to Residents, store linens in the appropriate locations.
• Clean and sanitize cleaning and laundry equipment, reporting any concerns or damaged equipment to the appropriate manager.
• Work as part of a team in support of one another and our Residents
• delivering seamless services to residents to create a pleasant dining experience
• Portion out and serve food and beverages within the dining room
• Wash dishes and utensils; operate dishwasher
• Stack clean dishes and utensils; also set, clear and clean dining tables
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing counter tops, sinks, machines, and equipment and spot washing walls and splash areas

Qualifications Include:

• Ability to speak, read and write in English. Must be able to follow verbal and written directions and to complete simple arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to do extensive standing, walking, squatting, and lifting at it pertains to laundry and dietary.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Completion of a TB Test, and a Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search as per the Retirement Homes Act.

This position is a casual to potential permanent position and may include a combination of Dietary (7am - 2pm or 4pm -8pm), Housekeeping (7:30am-1:30pm), Laundry (12:00pm-6:00pm or 10:00am to 4:00pm), and Resident Services Attendant (7:00am to 3:00pm) shifts.
