Sturgeon Public Schools is currently recruiting for the position of Business Manager to work at schools located throughout Sturgeon County. Reporting to the Senior Business Manager, this role supports the financial and accounting functions at various schools in the Division. This is a 12-monthposition.

Knowledge, Education & Experience

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Business Administration in Accounting with a minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting role. Knowledge of Atrieve and Rycor software programs would be preferred. Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office along with the ability to analyze and manage data is required.

Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to adopt a solution-focused, collaborative approach to challenges to meet the needs of schools, employees, and programs are essential to this role. The position requires a high degree of human relations skills, with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships. The candidate will be self-directed and able to take ownership of responsibilities, with a proven track record of results.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Provide accounting services to schools in concert with the Division’s Financial Services team
• Provide school-based Administrators with monthly financial statements to ensure fiscal accountability
• Maintain, monitor and update financial records including but not limited to revenues, expense, capital equipment inventory, using a digital platform
• Oversee the collection, disbursement and refund of student fees
• Manage Visa purchasing account for the schools
• Take appropriate actions to ensure open, transparent internal and external communications are developed and maintained in areas of responsibility
• Ensure parents and staff have a high level of satisfaction with the services provided
• Exhibit a high level of personal, professional and organizational integrity
• Other duties as required
