You’re a motivated and passionate individual who prides themselves on excellent customer service and is interested in sales and service within the travel insurance industry. As a Travel Insurance, Travel Counsellor, you will be responsible for assessing member needs and provide travel insurance solutions through appropriate AMA insurance products and services, ensuring company policy and procedures are followed to protect our members and the Association. In addition, you will deliver superior insurance sales, drive revenue growth, and member/customer satisfaction through all service channels (in-person, online or by phone). This position supports the overall AMA strategic direction and strives to protect the things our members care about the most.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Report to the Supervisor, Travel & Member Services, Contact Centre.
- Understand the benefits of AMA Travel Insurance products and services and assess individual member/customer needs to counsel them on the most suitable travel insurance product or service.
- Provide travel insurance options and recommended products to individuals/groups to ensure a worry-free vacation experience.
- Confirm insurance coverage ensuring all components have been thoroughly checked for accuracy.
- Participate in consumer events and call out programs to increase sales and member relationships.
- Maintain first call resolution to support call treatment standards and adhere to email and phone service standards.
- Follow AMA Travel policy and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and security of all information collected.
- Develop and maintain effective member/customer relationships and resolve any issues that arise.
- Facilitate a positive and inviting travel booking experience for members/customers.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
- You have a high school diploma.
- You have a minimum of 1 year in retail customer service experience.
- Bonus points if you have previous retail travel industry or insurance experience.
- Previous call centre experience is an asset.
