KITCHEN STAFF

At Kettleby, our kitchen staff is responsible for cooking and serving lunch for our day campers and breakfast and dinner for our overnight campers. Your role as a kitchen staff includes meal preparation and serving, dishwashing and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. You must also be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Kitchen Staff are paid hourly starting at $15.50+/hour, with at least 40 hours/week. Work beginning in May available for the right candidate.

1:1 INTEGRATED CAMP COUNSELLOR

1:1 refers to the staff to camper ratio, and we are currently seeking counsellors to work directly with campers who benefit from the assistance of a dedicated staff member. We believe that everyone should be included at camp, and the added support of an integrated counsellor helps us achieve this goal. This job is open to students and represents a great opportunity to gain relevant experience with children. The ideal candidates will be patient, comfortable in an outdoor setting and experience working with children. Although it is not required, experience working with exceptionalities such as Autism and ADHD is an asset.

Activities such as Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Archery, Paintball, and Arts and Crafts add to the fun and enjoyment of the job. This job may also include busing to and from camp if you live near Vaughan/King, Woodbridge, Newmarket, Aurora, Richmond Hill or Markham. Integrated Counsellors are paid a set salary for the summer, from $1300-2100/month.

CANOE INSTRUCTOR

We are looking for fun, enthusiastic swim staff who want to work outside this summer to join our lifeguard team as part of the canoeing staff. Working under our head of canoeing, responsibilities supervising campers and staff while they canoe in our pond, assisting with fitting lifejackets and paddles, teaching basic canoeing skills and maintaining a safe, fun waterfront environment. Candidates must possess current NLS and Standard First-Aid certifications. Canoe staff are paid a set salary for the summer, from $1800-2300/month.

CAMP CRAFT

We are currently seeking activity staff to join our Camp Craft and Nature program. Activity staff remain at their activity throughout the day and run programming for each group of campers as they move through their schedule, getting to interact with many different ages! Camp Craft can cover anything from plant identification to fire starting to nature games to shelter building. Activity Staff are paid a set salary for the summer, from $1800-$2100/month.

The Camp

Kettleby Valley is a traditional summer camp, offering both day and overnight camp programs in the heart of York Region. We host approximately 240 day and 100 overnight campers each week throughout July and August. We are situated on 60 private acres with forests, fields and waterfront. Our goal is to create unique outdoor experiences for campers and staff while developing resilience, confidence, and a healthy sense of independence. Each year, we bring together a team from near and abroad to deliver our highly sought after program.
