STEM Teacher at RoboThink Northwest Toronto
RoboThink is looking for energetic, patient, and friendly class instructors to lead kids in having fun while learning!
We are a STEM edu-tainment company that introduces children in grades K-8 to robotics and coding concepts through the use of our patented robot building blocks and easy-to-use coding software. We’re looking to expand our company with smart, creative, and fun instructors to join our team!
Qualifications:
- Local experienced teachers (full-time, supply, occasional) are greatly preferred
- Energetic and passionate about educating K-8 children
- Willing to learn how to use technology and robotics and be proficient at it
- Ability to take initiative, work well independently and with a team
- Able to adapt and troubleshoot issues when needed
- Prior experience working with children, or coaching sports or recreation programs in a learning environment is preferred
- Must have a car and be able to travel, running classes are located in Burlington, Caledon, King City, Vaughan, Richmond Hill or Aurora
- Will be available for after-school enrichment programs, weekend programs and/or Summer Camps
- Certifications in CPR-C/AED and/or High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) an asset
Prior knowledge of robotics/coding is NOT necessary. We are more than happy to provide training to candidates who do not have a robotics/coding background.
Job Description:
- Familiarize oneself with RoboThink hardware and course materials, carefully study the teacher training manual, classroom procedures, and policies
- Use RoboThink materials to conduct classes – pay attention to individual students to help them with the learning process; organize fun games in class; troubleshoot technical issues
- Communicate with parents on students' progress
- Administrative tasks such as taking attendance, organizing curriculum binders and printouts
- Provide feedback and concerns back to RoboThink's management team
- Transport of class materials from storage to the classroom; clean up and pack away classroom materials for transport back to storage
