Job Title: Stamping Production Associate- Bi-Weekly Rotation
Department: Stamping
Reports To: Stamping Production Coordinator
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Note – The following is not intended to be all-inclusive. This will prepare the individual for potential future positions as the business needs require and the individual demonstrates their contribution and potential.
Your position is responsible for providing professional and dependable service and to develop our team’s capability to deliver JEC’s key objectives to all our customers and suppliers. You will have a complete understanding of all customer/supplier requirements.
Your understanding of JEC’s Business Management System Manual, the associated BMS policies, processes, and their interaction is imperative. A commitment to JEC’s philosophy of Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost, Delivery & Environment is a requirement.
This role will be measured against specific targets as noted in the departmental business plan.
SUMMARY
Sets up and operates stamping machines to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite, by performing the duties below. Bi-wwekly rotation shift between mornings and afternoons.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Stamping Presses
o Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications
o Load coils for continuous operation
o Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
o Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications (Quality checks)
o Occasional support with training new hires and agency associates
o Other duties may be assigned
· Laser Welder
o Sets up and Operates Laser Welder to seamlessly weld blanks
o Sets up and operates stamping machines to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite
o Completes critical start up checks and inspections
o Performs proper set up from product to product
o Continuously monitors process, analyzing weld parameters to ensure consistency and adjusts accordingly
o Completes regularly scheduled Ericson Test for weld integrity
o Assists in troubleshooting and regularly communicates concerns to Stamping Production Team Leaders and Stamping Technical Associates
o Operate Overhead crane and Forklift Safely to transport pre-welded and post-welded material
o Load and unload edge preparation shear cell
o Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications
o Load coils for continuous operation
o Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
o Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications (Quality checks)
o Occasional support with training new hires and agency associates
o Other duties may be assigned
· Coil Receiving
o Receives and completed specific inspections on Stamping Coils in a timely, efficient manner
o Supports Environmental and waste management priorities as needed
o Supports Press demands as required
o Work independently with minimal supervision
o Receives coil trucks efficiently, according to JEC/Steel Supplier schedule
o Complete all quality specific inspections accurately on all coils as they arrive
o Safely operate overhead crane and Forklift to store coils and properly maintain organization of coil yards and coil racks
o Communicate regularly with JEC’s Logistics and Stamping Departments to ensure a high standard of coil quality is maintained
o Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications
o Manage recyclables and waste within the stamping department, and assist with plant wide recyclables to ensure proper disposal
o Actively involved with TPM schedule and daily floor cleaning using small walk behind sweeper and large riding sweeper
o Load coils for continuous operation
o Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
o Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications (Quality checks)
o Occasional support with training new hires and agency associates
o Other duties may be assigned
· Wire Form
o Assembles, installs, and aligns roller in machine according to specifications
o Load coils for continuous operation
o Starts wire bender and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
o Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications (Quality checks)
o Occasional support with training new hires and agency associates
o Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent/relevant experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write day to day correspondence and paperwork.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Internal JEC Forklift License
· On-site Crane Training
