Reporting into the Manager of Privacy, the Senior Privacy Analyst supports the Manager and Director in day-to-day operations of the Privacy Office.
This will include but not be limited to conducting audits of health information systems, supporting projects/programs, conducting assessments, developing policies/procedures and delivering training, responding to external consultation requests and supporting requests under health privacy legislation.
Core Accountabilities
- Build, maintain and manage critical relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective administration, application, and compliance with applicable legislation and policy.
- Work collaboratively with business teams to provide strategic guidance and advice related to privacy compliance within the organization and provide aid to business teams and management on the interpretation of privacy laws, internal policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct, coordinate, and lead privacy assessments on LifeLabs IT systems, projects, and programs.
- Participate in vendor risk privacy management activities, including review of contracts, RFP requirements and RFP evaluations.
- Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, procedures and supporting documentation, privacy training and communication materials.
- Facilitate and promote activities to champion privacy awareness culture.
- Conduct both straightforward and complex privacy-related audits and investigations of privacy breaches and incidents.
- Analyze data to identify inconsistencies, themes, and trends.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders related to breach and incident management through auditing and investigation of access to internal systems.
- Monitor and respond to customer inquiries, complaints and concerns related to privacy and confidentiality in alignment with our commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences
- Coordinate and manage the third-party consultation process under access to information laws.
- Monitor advancement in information privacy technologies, and Canadian privacy laws, to ensure organizational awareness, adaptation, and compliance.
Minimum Hiring Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a privacy role, preferably within a health care organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, Legal, Health Information, Information Management, or a related field
