We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Mining group, located in our any of our offices. As a multidisciplinary engineering firm, we provide a variety of services to the mining industry. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other engineers and environmental scientists, take a lead role in our growing mining team, and help us expand our service offerings. This is an excellent opportunity to join our entrepreneurial team and help shape the company.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mining engineering and geological services for underground and open pit projects including:
- Resource estimates
- Mine permitting applications
- Mine Studies (Scoping, Prefeasibility, etc)
- Geological Modelling
- Mine Design
- Perform annual mine reviews and prepare submissions to regulators
- Support regulatory review and permitting process, including environmental assessments
- Prepare technical reports as a Qualified Person (QP)
- Provide cost estimates for various stages of the mine life (CAPEX, OPEX, reclamation costing, etc.)
- Provide peer review and technical guidance for the multidisciplinary mining team
- Due diligence and critical reviews of mining submissions
- Provide input related to growth opportunities, business development and planning
- Other service offerings to meet the needs of our clients
Your Credentials and Capabilities:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Resource Geology, or similar
- Registered Professional Engineer and/or Geoscientist (P.Eng. or P.Geo.), and ability to register with ENS and APEGNL
- Be a Qualified Person (QP) as defined by National Instrument 43-101
- Minimum 10 years of experience, including exposure to open pit and underground mining
- Experience with mine design, resource estimation and technical reporting
- Experience with mine design and geostatistical software such as Micromine, Vulcan or Deswik
- Experience with other mining service offerings including ventilation, equipment selection/materials handling is considered an asset
- Experience in mineral exploration is considered an asset
- Industrial mineral experience is considered an asset
- Experience with orogenic or epithermal gold deposits is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel
