Job Summary
The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Coordinator, Enrolment Processing and Support, the Senior Clerk, Enrolment Processing and Support is responsible for the processing of applications, decisions and transcripts, as well as the maintenance of student records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process applications, supporting documentation and admission decisions using Banner software system. Ensure all pertinent information has been received to complete an application for an admissions decision to be made.
  • Shared responsibility to respond to a high volume of varied phone and email inquiries, and process incoming mail and faxes. Provide information to current and prospective students and parents on matters such as admission requirements; transfer credits; add/drop, waiver and intent to graduate forms; requests for transcripts; etc.
  • Access Banner to verify degrees, information received for applicants, check status of application, transfer credits, holds, registration status, etc.
  • Support student registration and maintenance of academic history, processing a wide variety of forms and reports.
  • Complete a variety of data entry duties related to student admission and record details as provided by the Student Information and Systems team.
  • Carry out other clerical duties as assigned.

Note
The successful applicant will primarily work remotely, with occasional presence in-person on-campus to meet client needs and operation requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Business/Office Administration diploma with approximately five years’ related work experience in a high volume document processing environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with integrated administrative systems (e.g., Web Xtender, SARS).
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.

Assets
  • Experience using the Ellucian Banner software and experience in a post-secondary environment is preferred.
