We have an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Accountant/Accounting Supervisor.
Applicants must have at least 5 years of suitable CANADIAN experience, excellent MS Excel, Word and MS GP Dynamics software skills, and must be able to quickly learn new computer systems.

The company is located on Annacis Island in Delta and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Candidates must already live in the lower mainland of British Columbia.

Senior Accountant/Accounting Supervisor is responsible for:

• a) Manage, supervise, train accounting staff of 4 (AP, AR, Production/Log Supply and Payroll) and delegate departmental workload to foster and maintain a coordinated effort within the accounting & finance support group.
• b) Financial Statement Preparation, Cost Variance Analysis, and monthly reconciliation
• c) Accounting System Updates & Upgrades
• d) Maintain various sub ledgers
• e) Bank Reviews for cash flow / deposits / withdrawals
• f) Maintain the internal control system (including accounting and business processes) to comply with internal and J-SOX requirements
• g) Customer Credit Control
• h) Reporting the WCB, PST, and GST to the various agencies (bank, stats Canada, insurance etc)
• i) Communicate with external auditors during year-end audit and tax prep schedules
• j) Calculating and reporting monthly insurance information.
• k) Handle complex AR and AP issues dealing with the computer system and general accounting principles.
• l) Ensure contractors were in compliance with WCB and maintain adequate general liability insurance coverage
• m) Review payroll data and be back-up for Payroll Administrator
• n) Back-up/support for Controller
• o) Work with the management team as required. Any other duties as assigned.
• p) Data collections and analysis, monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting.
