The Opportunity:

The Heavy Duty Mechanic will report directly to the Manager, Maintenance. The primary function of this position is to address mechanical issues and conduct preventative maintenance on all components of Sanjel Energy equipment. Preference will be given to Red Seal / Journeyman candidates. 3rd and 4th year apprentices will also be considered.

General Responsibilities:

• Complete refurbishments and updates to existing Sanjel equipment
• Gain working knowledge of Sanjel's equipment
• Check equipment for proper performance
• Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate with Inter-provincial Red Seal preferred, but not a requisite: *3rd / 4th year
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and pumps
• CVIP License / Electrical wiring capabilities
• Mechanical training in the oilfield industry (field experience) an asset
• Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract
• Thorough safety knowledge and practice
• Driven, engaging individual who is a team player and can offer strong problem solving skills
• Candidates with Military/Canadian Armed Forces experience are encouraged to apply
