Mill Creek Sand & Gravel is a third generation, family-owned independent company focused on processing and manufacturing aggregates for the Western Canadian markets. Our facility is located approximately 12 km north of Redwater or a 45-minute drive from north Edmonton.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Collect samples to meet API and ASTM standards from the plant, pit and piles

· Complete Sieve, color and proppant testing as per API and ASTM standards

· Complete testing with the Laser Diffraction machine on Silica Flour samples

· Complete data entry of test results and send to all appropriate parties

· Clean and maintain all lab equipment

· General housekeeping in the lab

· Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all issues or matters requiring his/her attention

· Work all assigned shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time

· Participate in all required Company meetings

· Other duties as assigned

Education & Training:

· Possess a high school diploma or GED

· Valid Class 5 Drivers’ License

· Geotechnical technology diploma would be considered an asset

Teamwork

· Participate as vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organizations which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required

· Promote a team approach and maintain a dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather innovative ideas

· Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives

Customer Service

· Approach all encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

· Project a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, positive attitude that encourages customer confidence and reflects a professional image.

· Solutions-focused when approached with concerns from the general public or suggestions to co-workers.

Experience:

· Previous field experience in mine driving would be considered an asset

· Previous experience in a construction setting working around heavy equipment would be considered an asset
