SUMMARY:

One Care Home & Community Support Services is a respected non profit community agency, providing quality in-home and community services. We are seeking an Adult Day Program-Program Assistant who, under the direction of the Community Support Services Supervisor, will be responsible for service delivery in the Adult Day Program setting including implementing program activities and direct client care. This position is based out of the Exeter and Grand Bend Adult Day Program.

We are seeking a Part-Time Program Assistant for our Exeter and Grand Bend ADP sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in planning and implementing a variety of therapeutic, social and recreational activities for clients.
• Assists clients in performing activities of daily living including bathing and toileting.
• Maintains accurate and confidential client records.
• Works cooperatively and communicates effectively with team members including staff, volunteers and caregivers.
• Ensures the rights and privacy of clients, volunteers and staff are maintained.
• Housekeeping duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with seniors and providing personal care.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Physically capable of performing assigned duties including client transfers.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Diploma or certificate in Recreation, Activation, Gerontology, PSW, RPN, Social Worker, DSW.
• Will consider equivalent education and experience.
• Social Recreational Planning/Implementation an asset.
• Gentle Persuasive Approach and Montessori training an asset.
• Valid drivers license.
