Purpose
As the Product Development Chemist you will develop and implement new technologies and industrial speciality chemical products as recognized by the company for potential markets. You will be a technical resource for operations, product development and sales. Promote cooperative team environment and support the product development process from idea to product launch.

What you will do

  • Develop new products for application to Guardian markets and evaluate them for chemical and physical properties, performance, and stability.
  • Improve current formulations of products when needed.
  • Research new raw material and formulations and review existing formulations for potential improvements. chem

Support laboratory compliance activities, government reporting and classification of products under GHS and TDG.

  • Serve as a technical resource and trouble shoot for operations and sales.
  • Collaborate with staff on technical matters within the lab and other departments as required, including field consultation

What you will bring:

  • BSc (Honours Specialization) or MSc in Chemistry.
  • 5+ years of industry experience, formulation experience an asset.
  • Knowledge and skills in product development and laboratory procedures working with chemicals, instrumentations, and computers.
  • Knowledge and skills in chemical procedures and test method development.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication.
  • The ability to work independently or within a group sharing information and assisting others.
  • Ability to work under strict time constraints.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, develop, document, setup and maintain new processes in the lab.

Salary: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
