The Product Designer will work to optimize the user experience in the solutions that are developed. This role will work on a discrete feature or small product within the RegSys application taking direction and supervision from more tenured UI / UX Design resources within the Technology Solutions team.
Key Responsibilities:
The position will work under close supervision and include, but will not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Design intuitive experiences across different projects and features, delivering easy to follow wireframes, workflows, and prototypes
- Pitch concepts to colleagues and occasionally present ideas to clients
- Create visual/functional interactive prototypes using Figma to test design ideas.
- Conduct usability testing sessions and also help with the preparation of scenarios and tasks
- Regularly participate in design reviews to obtain feedback, iterating on the designs to improve results
- Help to promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards keeping our Design documentation up to date
- Occasionally facilitate Design Sprint sessions to gain experience as a facilitator and better understanding of Design Sprint activities.
Position Requirements:
The Product Designer will be a creative self-starter who is committed to delivering a great UI/UX experience and understands that the smallest changes can make the biggest difference.
- Post-secondary education in UI / UX Design (or similar field) plus theoretical knowledge (or experience) in user experience design, interface design, interaction design, information architecture, or other related disciplines and designing for mobile devices.
- Familiarity with a variety of design tools to create high-fidelity mockups of designs using Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.
- Ability to adapt designs across platforms and form factors with an understanding of the opportunities with and limitations of different platforms and form factors
- Aware of trends in mobile, communications, and collaboration.
- Aptitude for translating requirements into visual concepts.
- Theoretical knowledge of capabilities, best practices, and limitations of Web technologies such as CSS, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript and JQuery.
- Motivated and creative team player.
