Job Description: Pick-Up Truck Driver (Pilot)

Location: Near Houston BC

The rover driver postiion involves driving a company pick-up truck leading trucks to and from camp on remote mountain roads. Class 5 license is required. Those who hold Class 1 license with ability to jump in and move trucks to support the water/straight vac team are considered an asset.

Preference to candidates living in the Burns Lake, Smithers, Houston, Prince George areas. Rotional shift work, day rate, camp accommodations, travel allowance.

Compensation and Benefits

The Rover starting day rate is $375.00 per day and dependant on mountain driving experience. Company benefits, travel allowance.

Position Summary

This is a full-time position with shift rotations. Driving on remote roads between camp and Houston BC will occur on a regular bases. You must be fit for duty and experience driving in extreme weather and road conditions.

The Opportunity

Reporting to out site supervisors and managemet based out of our Peace River branch, the rover operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company commercial pick-up. Clean 5 year abstract is required.

Key Reponsibilities

• Drives and operates the truck in a safe- and appropriate manner, remote maintain roads, use of radio communication along roadway.
• Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Performs laborer tasks as required.
• Monitor vehicle, inspect fluid levels, and fitness of machinery.

Qualifications

• Class 5 license with clean 5-year personal drivers abstract - required.
• 3 Years experience driving on remote roads in all weather - preferred
• Fit for duty drug ad alcohol testing, dry camp - required
• Preference to those holding a Class 1 license.

• Ability to take and follow direction for work assignment in a supervised and unsupervised setting
• Ability to recognize and report hazards
• Make good decisions and use good judgement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Above average electronic skills and use of smart phone aps
