Fastfrate Group is seeking an Operations Team lead for our Woodbridge, Ontario office. The Operations Team is fast-paced, professional and growing. You’ll bring excellent people and communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the drive to achieve goals.
- Oversee and help with daily warehouse and dock operations
- Accountable for productivity and efficiencies of staff
- Ensures all freight is unloaded and loaded in a safe and timely manner; reports any exceptions to stakeholders.
- Ensure warehouse inbound, and outbound orders are processed in order of priority and within the required timeframes.
- Maintain regular communication with Customers, planners, and dispatch staff regarding service/delivery matters.
- Optimizes the use of staff and equipment to meet customer shipping requirements
- Provides direct supervision of staff, ensuring staff are adequately trained to perform their duties in an effective and safe manner
- Ensure efficient operations are maintained by optimizing staff scheduling, availability of efficient and safe equipment, identifying process improvement opportunities, etc
- Reports any damage to equipment or shipments, ensuring photographs and reports are completed.
- Maintains a clean, organized and safe dock environment
- Required to work overtime as needed.
- Minimum three years in the warehouse, transportation, logistics or distribution sector
- Minimum three years of supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and work well in a team environment
- Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Good computer skills required
- Attention to detail required
