Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Property Acquisitions Team is seeking a Manager, Property Acquisition Controls to lead a team in forecasting and budgeting related to delivery of properties for various multi-billion-dollar Metrolinx projects.
What will I be doing?
- Manage the day to day operations of the Property Acquisition Controls Team
- Oversight of the Closing Process including review of contracts, timely payments of amicable property acquisitions, payment of final settlement funds and interest for expropriated properties, payment of owner reimbursements payment of Metrolinx vendor of record (VOR) suppliers
- Management of the VOR quotes for property requirements for all Metrolinx projects
- Oversight, management and creation of the budgeted property valuations and tracking expenditures
- Coordinate and consolidate monthly and annual financial reporting for Metrolinx Property Acquisitions, Corporate Finance and Capital Finance
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Advanced knowledge of financial practices in commercial transactions and the requirements for closing of commercial property.
- Completion of a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Urban & Regional Planning, Urban Land Economics, or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience leading real estate acquisitions, commercial finance, valuation experience and asset management programs.
- Experience with transit construction infrastructure and/or Alternative Financing and Procurement projects would be beneficial
- CA designation would be an asset
- Negotiating skills to navigate between multiple parties with differing perspectives along with interpersonal skills
- Experience leading a team of high-performing professionals
- Experience with and knowledge of the Expropriation Act a strong asset
