Job Description

The Maintenance Technician provides maintenance support in accordance with the Master Batch Record (MBR)/Master Packaging Order (MPO) and in compliance with EH&S policies, GMPs, and controlled procedures (SOP, EM, WI, JA, etc.) within area of personal qualification and certification, as required.

Tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Performs duties in accordance with the MBR/MPO and in compliance with EH&S policies, GMPs, and controlled procedures
  • Completes all GMP documentation (MBR/MPO, controlled procedures, labels, logbooks, validation documentation, etc.) in accordance with Data Integrity
  • Conducts advanced troubleshooting: Independently diagnose and resolve significant equipment issues
  • Independently disassemble, setup equipment and rooms according to controlled procedures
  • Perform preventative maintenance, installation, modification, fabrication, and repair of equipment, utilities, systems and/or facilities
  • Execute qualification, validation protocols for the installation, commissioning, operation of equipment, utilities, systems and/or facilities.
  • Ensures the proper care, safe use, condition and cleanliness of tools, equipment (mill, lathe, drill, etc.), rooms, and GMP area
  • Liaise directly with suppliers/OEM manufacturers on technical issues and procurement of operational supplies/parts
  • Notifies Supervisor when processing issues, product quality concerns and safety incidents occur
  • Attends the Train the Trainer Program and conducts training for the Department
  • Acts on areas of productivity losses, looks for and suggests solutions, support OPEX initiatives (i.e. Kaizen, SMED, OEE, 5S)
  • Executes and participates in DR investigations, root cause determination and CAPA creation

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum successful completion of High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Technician Diploma or a university degree in a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred: Accreditation/certification (Millwright, Electrician, HVAC, etc.)
  • Maintenance and building management applications, PLC, measuring/calibration/diagnostic devices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GMPs, EH&S procedures, including OH&S Act, WHMIS
  • General knowledge of Pharmaceutical or comparable GMP industry
