Our Team

The Maintenance team in Sudbury, Ontario is a multi-disciplinary, well-rounded team who are responsible for maintenance execution of conditional, corrective and emergency work. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our operators and maintainers as well as ensuring our assets run reliably.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Maintenance Advisor to join our Clarabelle Mill, Tailings & Water Plant Department in Sudbury. This is a permanent position.

The role holder will provide technical expertise for elements such as: electrical/electronic control systems, control software and telecommunications. The successful applicant will facilitate automation implementation for new and existing equipment and its integration into a process operation.

Additionally, this position:

  • Works Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift (occasional requirement for off hour support).
  • Manages the design, maintenance and programming of the following systems: Factory TalkView, Foxboro FoxView, PLC programming languages, GE Series 6, Allen Bradley PLC5, Control Logix, ControlNet and DeviceNet, HMI/SCADA Software,.
  • Manages maintenance and design of Instrumentation, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Control Systems.
  • Adheres to maintenance business processes as outlined in VPS by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, Incident Management (IRIS), eMOC, PHRs, JHAs.), tools and standards.
  • Establishes and maintains work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including supervisors, schedulers, superintendents, crew members, etc.
  • Manages the development of communication and automation systems, safety and fail-safe analysis, critical spare parts lists, etc.
  • The incumbent will be required to document data and procedures, and complete formal written reports.
  • Maintains and updates network & communications prints using approved software.
  • Retains and update CMMS equipment registry and maintenance plans.
  • Must be able to mentor, coach and train junior colleagues and possess strong communication skills.
  • Develop, maintain spares parts list for critical assets.
  • Develop & Manage 3rd party support contracts for communication systems.
  • Interfaces & Manages IT/OT systems transformation and lead execution of recommended actions.
  • Contribute towards effective planning improvements (OPEX) and FEL studies (CAPEX).

About You

Education:

  • Graduate technologist in electrical/electronic discipline (certification in electronics, communications, electrical, instrumentation is desirable).

Experience:

  • 5 Years of experience with: Automation, Communications, Design & Maintenance.
