The Logistics Analyst position is responsible for supporting the inbound logistics management of all dry and wet materials via rail, ocean, air, and over the road shipping and the outbound bulk shipments. The role involves monitoring the supply chain and identifying areas to proactively improve with processes and procedures to ensure timely and cost-efficient success. When supply chain issues arise, an Analyst uses data and communication to find solutions to minimize disruptions.
Key objectives will be collaborating with suppliers, transportation providers, and customers to achieve targeted service levels, maintain stable inventory movements, and manage freight budget. Development and execution of analytical projects to enhance supply chain operations and cross-departmental visibility of inbound and outbound inventory status will be key. Requires collaboration with global suppliers and customers to align and monitor on time delivery of required materials. Strong analytical skills required to identify and implement process improvements as solutions to challenging problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of PRUSA logistics for rail, truck, air, and ocean shipments for domestic and foreign suppliers. Ensure production schedules are maintained with on-time deliveries to production facilities.
- Provide daily monitoring of shipments to include identification with freight providers of delays and revised estimated arrival dates. Provide timely communication of revisions, challenges, and opportunities.
- Support performance and reporting requirements through retrieval and analysis of relevant data from multiple sources.
- Develop and execute data-driven projects to enhance supply chain operations and cross-departmental visibility of inbound and outbound inventory status.
- Assist with logistics cost controlling and deviation assessments.
- Provide for continuous optimization of logistical processes and root cause examinations for improvements in on-time deliveries and cost efficiency.
- Provide reporting on utilization of bulk rail car fleet to corporate and plant management.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Subject matter expert on transportation tracking tools internal to PR and freight providers.
- Lead and participate in relevant projects as assigned by / to the Supply Chain Operations.
- Support Chain operations with adhoc reports/projects.
Education
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain, Finance, Business Analytics or related field required.
Experience
- Requires 3-5 years of previous analytical, logistics experience.
- Proven ability to develop and implement best practices to meet industry standards for materials movement/supply chain.
- Digitally savvy and with strong business acumen, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
Required Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of shipment lifecycles from planning to delivery. Ocean logistics experience is a bonus.
- Proficient and expertise using MS Office, especially Excel. Access knowledge is a bonus.
- Proficient using business intelligence applications/tools (Power BI or Oracle based preferred).
- Working knowledge of data analysis and forecasting tools and ability to develop actionable insights from data.
- Attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to build and improve trusting relationships.
- Flexible, organized, team player.
