The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre utilizes the nursing process as a member of, and in collaboration with, the interdisciplinary team in the delivery of consistent quality care to meet the needs of the client through the life span. The LPN participates in the provision of health care to clients by applying nursing knowledge, skills, and judgment to assess client needs and providing nursing care for clients. The Licensed Practical Nurse accepts responsibility for continuing competency through ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs, research and continuous quality activities. As this is a rural LPN position you will be required to work in all areas of the healthcare centre, such as: Emergency, Medical/Surgical, Operating Room, Labour and Delivery along with a potential opportunity to work in the Hemodialysis Unit. The LPN is required to be able to work all shifts. On Call Duty is available. Additional Required Qualifications:As required.
Preferred Qualifications:At least one year relevant nursing experience preferred. Rural experience preferred. ER experience preferred. Additional education courses related to rural nursing preferred.
