Kitchen Helper/Dishwasher Job at Chances Prince Rupert
Reporting to of the kitchen manager, the Prep Cook and dishwasher a key member of the kitchen team who is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitization of the kitchen area. You will wash and clean all sauce dishes, pots, utensils and cooking equipment. You are able to able to juggle multiple tasks at once, are attentive to detail and are looking to grow in the hospitality/service industry.
Job Duties:
- Learns different procedures for food preparation.
- Learns to check food deliveries for both accurate quantity and high quality.
- Preps ingredients for dishes upon instruction of chefs.
- Learns how to operate the various pieces of kitchen equipment efficiently and safely such as stoves, grills, ovens and fryers.
- Learns how to store various food supplies properly, resourcefully, and safely.
- Learns proper set up and tear down of food stations.
- Learns to produce menu items consistently as per standardized recipes including portion control and presentation.
- Learns how to multi-task and organize their space to maximize efficiency.
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwasher or by hand.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
- Maintain kitchen work area, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
Job Requirements:
- Must be 19+
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, & holidays
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From $16.50 per hour
