Junior Truck Dispatcher Job at BDS International Trucking Ltd.
BDS International Trucking is seeking experienced, reliable, full-time Junior Dispatcher to join our team at our office in Delta, B.C.
Job Responsibilities & Duties include but are not limited to:
- Dispatching duties
- Optimize fleet utilization
- Searching for new loads and Booking loads
- Managing and overseeing layovers and waiting times of the drivers
- Approve driver vacations while ensuring smooth business operations
- Responsible for customs clearance
- Track and trace shipments and loads
- Update the status of shipments and loads to the Management
- Ensure efficient driving routes and assign deliveries to drivers based on location and priority
- Works in a 24/7 operation and maintains communication with all departments. Provides after hours on-call service
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
- Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for time-sensitive deliveries
- Work closely with Management to negotiate rates with carriers and other vendors
Job Requirements & Skills
- Must be efficient with using a computer, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Must be motivated and able to work productively and efficiently in a team-focused environment, including in high pressure situations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
