Job Summary
Plaintiff side personal injury law firm in Toronto (North York) is seeking a junior or intermediate level lawyer for handling tort claims. Full-time or part-time options may be considered. It will be possible to get some exposure to accident benefits matters. Tort claims experience, either plaintiff or defense, disability claims experience and / or accident benefits experience is an asset. To apply, please forward your resume and cover letter.
Requirements:
- Self-starter and self-learner personality.
- Motivation to succeed, readiness to take responsibility for the files and manage them.
- Knowledge and desire to enhance knowledge of the Insurance Act, SABS, Rules of Civil Procedure and other laws and regulations. Participation in development of the firm knowledge database.
- Handling various aspects of the files, such as client meetings, file assessment, file planning, examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trial conferences and settlement negotiations.
- Excellent analytical, written and oral skills, and good work ethics.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $56,853.00-$95,202.00 per year
