Our Firm has an immediate opening for a full-time Junior IT Technician, catering to employees in the Niagara, Hamilton, and Burlington regions.
As a Junior IT Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Providing end-user support for a variety of internal applications such as software, hardware and connectivity issues and working closely with an outsourced IT service provider.
In addition, you may also be responsible for:
- Assisting with designing, maintaining, updating, administering, documenting, and securing DJB’s IT Infrastructure;
- Assisting in reviewing the performance of IT Infrastructure to help determine operating costs and upgrade requirements;
- Recommending, installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading all computer and networking software and hardware;
- Assisting in maintaining, managing, troubleshooting, and upgrading computer systems and servers for performance and security-related issues;
- Helping to coordinate contractors for equipment or resource allocation;
- Assisting with the coordination of the set-up of data services, as well as phone, computer and printer installation;
- Assisting with electronic document management, the management of software licensing, hardware maintenance contracts, and the security of network, systems, and enterprise information.
The successful candidate will have:
- Completion of a two (2) year post-secondary computer-related program, or two (2) years experience in a computer-related support role;
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and experience;
- Excellent ability to understand and grasp new concepts quickly;
- Strong verbal and written communication;
- Familiarity with accounting software (user & installation), an asset;
- Certifications in A+, Network+ and/or a Microsoft technical certification, an asset;
- Working knowledge of Windows Client 10 and MS Server OS, MS Office and Exchange Server, an asset;
- Understanding of Active Directory, domains, user permissions in a Windows environment, networking, TCP/IP, switches, routers and DSL, an asset.
With the potential opportunity to work remotely at times, protected internet access is required in the remote office location.
