About the Role:

DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants is recruiting for a Junior Accountant to join our Entertainment Group in our Victoria office. In this role, you will work directly with clients and staff and the ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and exceptional customer service skills.

Our entertainment team is passionate about the music and entertainment industry. They help artists at every stage of their career manage their business, allowing their clients to focus their time where it really matters: on their craft. When they’re not crunching numbers and streaming their newest playlists at work, our entertainment team can often be found at local music venues and festivals enjoying the live experience.

How you'll make a difference:

• Processing full cycle Accounts Payables and Receivables;
• Preparing invoices and billings;
• Payroll calculations and remittances;
• Preparation of regular external filings such as GST, T4s and T5s;
• Bank and credit card reconciliations;
• General client support.

Do you have:

• 1-2 years bookkeeping experience?
• An interest in the entertainment industry?
• Proficient computer knowledge and experience with MS Office?
• Experience with Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, and/or Xero knowledge (an asset)?
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal?
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong focus on client service?
• Excellent attention to detail with superior organizational and analytical skills?

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a positive rapport and convey concepts and services with clients;
• Detail oriented individual with superior organizational and analytical skills;
• Ability to manage time and adhere to strict deadlines;
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office with the ability to quickly grasp new technological tools.
