Qualifications:
- An Alberta or Red Seal Journeyman Welding Certificate is required;
- Five years of teaching experience in an educational or trades setting;
- 10 years’ experience working in the welding & joining Industry;
- Knowledge of Alberta Apprenticeship system;
- Experience teaching Dual Credit and Pre-employment students;
- Excellent skills with MS office;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector is required prior to commencement;
- Driver’s License.
Successful candidate must provide College or University transcripts, criminal record check with vulnerable sector and proof of valid driver’s license to Human Resources prior to commencement.

Position Description
Welding Instructor
Nature and Scope of Work
This position is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivery of instruction and evaluation of learners for Career and Technology Studies (High School) and Pre-Employment welding programs at the High Level Campus. Both theory and lab instruction will be offered. This position also includes administrative duties, liaising with community, government and industry representatives and working with other College departments as required. The incumbent reports to the Chair, Trades & Resource Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare for instruction, including program development;
- Delivery of instruction, addressing various learning styles and needs;
- Evaluate and report on student progress;
- Liaison with industry, government and community representative as required;
- Work with other College departments to facilitate learner success;
- Monitor classroom supplies and tools inventory;
- Perform administrative tasks;
- Assist in the recruitment and enrolment of students
- Track student attendance & interventions
- Submit reports and forms as required
- Maintain confidentiality and security of student information
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in computer skills;
- Strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Self-directed problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- Knowledge of Alberta’s apprenticeship system;
- Other skills may be required.
Qualifications
