Injection Molding Process Technician, Foreperson is responsible for the safe and efficient set up and operation of injection molds and injection molding machines. In this role, the Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for optimizing and troubleshooting injection molding processes with respect to quality and productivity. This includes verifying the accuracy of the manufactured components against the engineering drawings by measuring dimensions on first off samples using precision measuring equipment and standard tests, as well as identifying areas of improvement to increase productivity of the mold. The Injection Molding Process Technician will lead continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing processes to improve the testing processes internally as well as at customer sites.

Duties:

• Organize and supervise the activities of machine operators
• Proficiently start up, shut down, set up and troubleshoot injection molding, thermoforming, and injection blow molding machines
• Work close with other departments regarding work schedules and activities
• Responsible for training team members
• Identify and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• Recommend, participate in, and implement continuous improvement and proactive initiatives
• Optimize process to increase efficiency, product quality and reduce waste
• Complete daily reporting and audits
• Communicate with prior and oncoming shifts about work assignments and production expectations
• Review production processes and maintain required documentation
• Perform all job functions abiding by all Health and Safety rules and regulations (HACCP & SQF)
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment using 5S principles
• Provide technical support to the Machine Operators
• Identify and solve work related problems with your team
• Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions

Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Technician, Electronic Technician or a related field is required
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2-3 years of experience with mounting/dismounting molds in Injection Molding Machines and start-up/shutdown procedures
• 2-3 years of experience with mold performing tests, mold tryouts and audits (ISO 22000; ISO 9001; FDA)
• Strong knowledge of injection molding, thermoforming or injection blow molding machines
• Strong mechanical aptitude of machines and processes
• Ability to repair, set-up, troubleshoot and shut down machines
• Supervisor experience
• Leadership qualities: interpersonal and people management
• Must be reliable, hardworking and have a strong willingness to learn
• Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively both within a team and independently
• Strong written/verbal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Office apps
