  • ensure that heating, cooling, ventilation, and air conditioning systems operate properly and deliver the correct air & water quantities inside a building?
  • work in a variety of commercial and industrial and high residential buildings in Metro Vancouver & elsewhere in B.C.?
  • run building mechanical systems to verify functionality, measure preliminary fluid flows, check fan and pump rotations, adjust fan & pump speeds, adjust dampers & valves and measure final airflows?
  • use a laptop computer, phone apps and a variety of testing equipment to perform your job?
  • work closely with clients to solve problems and deliver much needed technical information?
  • prepare and submit technical reports?
  • follow safety and environmental regulations?

TAB Technicians should be physically fit as well as be comfortable working on ladders and in a construction environment. Clean driving record required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid B.C. driver’s license.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders of various sizes.
  • Able to carry tools and instruments throughout the workday.
  • Mechanical aptitude. HVAC knowledge isn’t a must have.
  • Honest and self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willing to travel throughout the province (note: majority of work is in the Lower Mainland).
  • Willing to work occasional evening and weekend shifts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Testing, Adjusting & Balancing of Air and Hydronic Systems.
  • Post secondary education. BCIT – Mechanical Systems is preferred. Camoson College or Okanagan College Mechanical Technologist Diploma also considered.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel.
