We are seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with 3-5 years of experience who will be a key addition to our mechanical team comprised of a highly trained Head Mechanic along with 2-3 apprentices. As it is now winter, you will be working at our satellite location at the Calgary International Airport as well as at our main full service shop at our Headquarters in SE Calgary. Key responsibilities include maintenance and repair of all aspects of our fleet of over 100 vehicles and machines. Specific items in our fleet include but are not limited to a sizeable number of pickup trucks, limited number of heavy duty trucks (3-ton single axle plus tandem axle trucks), skid steers, loaders, tractors, large commercial mowers and other light industrial landscape maintentance machines, Searching for parts online or by calling companies to get the best price for parts that are needed in a time sensitive matter. This position will require both indoor and outdoor work in all weather elements, but with heated shops to complete vast majority of required work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, and service all equipment
• Preventative maintenance inspections and repairs; CVIPs
• Make concise decisions on daily repairs
• Order material/parts to complete repairs, ensuring repairs remain within budget requirements
• Positively participate in company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements
• Demonstrate commitment to company policies, procedures, guidelines, and initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to promoting a positive attitude towards Ethics, Core Values of Safety, Growth, Integrity
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
• Ability to put in some overtime in on weekdays and weekends. Also be able to work winter night on-call shifts.
• Flexible (full-time) working hours with potnetial to set staggered shifts with Head Mechanic throughout the seasons.

Qualifications:

• On Road Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certification required
• 5+ Years’ experience; heavy truck / tractor / bobcat repair background an asset
• Minimum class 5 with a clean driving record
• Welding and fabrication experience an asset
• Familiarity with computers and reporting
• Reliability and good attendance
• Ability to meet all safety requirements and follow safety policies
• Overall good health as you will be required to do heavy lifting of approximately 50lbs.
• RAIC (Restricted Area Indentity Card) to access the airport behind security wil be required, but we will help with that process - an asset but not required

The ideal candidate has had multiple years of experience servicing trucks as well as experience maintaining farm equipment such as John Deere tractors and mower, Toro equipment or other light industrial equipment to supplment our mechanical team. Alternatively, an equipment mechanic servicing an airport with a valid RAIC and AVOP would be highly beneficial.
