General Contractor that is willing to specialize in Accessibility and Universal Design
Job Description
We are Home Medical Solutions and we special in accessibility and use universal design principles for our client at home. We are looking for general contractors and subcontractors to work with our team. With the head office located in Calgary, we are looking for qualified tradespeople throughout central and southern Alberta. We are looking for general contractors and subcontractors of all trades. We are ideally looking for general contractors who can handle a constantly changing scope of work as each project is different. There is also the possibility of full time employment for those that are interested as work loads increase and experience and quality of work is demonstrated. We plan on having a Lethbridge store location as we generate demand in the medical equipment, but there is already construction jobs for accessibility and universal design required in Lethbridge and greater Lethbridge area.
Direct Industry Experience is Preferred;
Roll-in/Walk-in showers
Ramps and landings for Vertical Platform Lifts
Door Widenings and Exterior Door Access
Exterior and Interior Railings
Throughout home renovations
EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING IS A MUST ;
Adheres to the Barrier-Free Design Guide
Interior renovation/carpentry work
Exterior carpentry – decks, ramps, sheds
Hardware installation, hanging doors, window installation
Drywall, boarding, taping and finish work ,
Trim, case and base
Flooring – vinyl, LVP, carpet, hardwood
Framing
Bathroom and kitchen reno experience is an asset
Painting, interior finish work
Concrete work (residential)
Electrical, plumbing and HAVC
Knowledge of accessibility renovations and related building code
Required
Reliable vehicle
Tools relevant to your trade
Valid insurance
Clean record check (some exemptions may apply, determined by what the charge is and time it was committed.)

Clear communication and excellent customer service
Team player able to work with a variety of parties
Organized and able to keep projects on schedule and on budget
Problem solver – able to handle unforeseen issues on site by thinking outside of the box
