Job Description

• Ensure facility systems/equipment is operating within parameters.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of Hatchery production machines.
• Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment as needed.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment,
• Maintain accurate records for maintenance logs and preventative maintenance program.
• Perform a variety of maintenance, carpentry and plumbing functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Generate parts requests to ensure an adequate inventory of parts.
• The successful candidate will be required to learn the hatchery equipment and train to do weekly on-call rotational duties as needed. The on-call duties may include evenings, weekends, and holidays which requires a valid Ontario Drivers License.

Necessary Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum of (3) three years experience required in a maintenance role. Preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable working with live animals
• Work knowledge of Microsoft programs (MS Office)
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Trade certificate is an asset
