Experienced Vue Web Developer - remote - Canada Job at Riva International, Inc.
Riva is looking for an experienced Web Developer with expertise in the Vue JavaScript framework building micro apps who enjoys the challenges of architecting new solutions to deliver customer delight while leading with integrity by coaching and mentoring developer teams on utilizing new technologies.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, you will be focused on leading development efforts to build micro apps using the Vue JavaScript framework interfacing .NET web apps. The results of your efforts will directly impact our products and our customers – some of the top companies around the world.

- Bring leadership to the design, development, and release of new features and improvements to Riva's web products while collaborating with other stakeholders, including product management, UX and backend developers, testers , and executives.
- Exert influence on the overall solution vision while responding to product objectives owned by your team.
- Provide guidance and direction on architectural design decisions and adopt performant, stable, and extensible design patterns.
- Work on a platform and product with an established enterprise-grade customer base and existing code while looking to a future with a responsive composite web app, event, and API-driven microservices in a cloud-first approach.
- Elevate the team by participating in our collaborative product development environment that can include design discussions, pair programming, code reviews, coaching, and mentoring activities.
- Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Help define, improve, maintain, and advocate for those standards through code review.

- Lead efforts to consistently ship moderately sized features and improvements through a mature continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline.
- Help the team adhere to best practices in development, security, documentation, testing, and design through high-level feature reviews.
- Assist junior and intermediate developers to design their own learning program that facilitates the continual growth of their careers as a developer.
- Write and review internal technical documentation for developer, tester, and product owner consumption.
- Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.
WHAT DO YOU BRING?
- At least 6 years of applicable front-end work experience with 2+ years of daily experience building micro apps using Vue JavaScript framework.
- Excellent skills in front-end web application development. HTML, CSS, Javascript, ES6+, responsive layouts, CSS Grid, Flexbox, forms, call and display data from back-end SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience working with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind).
- In-depth proficiency with cross-browser development using the Vue JavaScript framework.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, JSON, and YAML.
- Proficient in using source control, including Git and/or SVN.
- A belief in agile processes with a desire to leverage continuous delivery patterns and technologies, such as continuous integration (TeamCity / Jenkins), continuous deployment (Octopus Deploy), continuous testing (TDD, NUnit, Selenium,
Mocha / Chai / Jest), continuous monitoring (Newrelic, APM). - Understand and able to use patterns and standards, such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID, JWT, Graph, OData, REST, SOAP, Web Sockets.
- Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills (both server and client/browser), preferably with large multi-tier enterprise software products.
- Have proficiency with cross-browser/cross-platform issues, DOM and web standards.
- Solid understanding of OOD, OOP, and design patterns.
- Experience with developing and deploying to Cloud Solution Providers (AWS and/or Azure).
- Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
- Organized, efficient, and committed to getting the job done while managing multiple priorities within scheduled timelines.
- Prepare and review architectural and design documentation for developers, testers, product owners, and other stakeholders.
- Able to communicate technical solutions and the rationale behind decisions so that a non-technical person can understand.
- Adaptable to new environments, changes in requirements and scope.
- Willingness to learn new skills and a demonstrated continual effort to improve skills.
- Responsive to mentoring and coaching intermediate and junior developers.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with other parts of the organization, including customer-facing teams.
- Communicates fluently in written and spoken English.

- Post-secondary education in computer science, software development or related work experience.
- Formal team lead experience.
- Experience with containerization using Docker and Docker Compose.
- Experience with other JavaScript frameworks including React, Next, Nuxt, Angular.
- Experience with Office plugin development (Outlook COM add-in, OfficeJS API).
- Familiarity and experience with microservices design patterns.
- Experience building web applications using C#, ASP.NET, and Microsoft .NET.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with web server configuration and troubleshooting (IIS, Nginx, Apache).
- AWS Associate certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps Administrator) and Professional certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- Azure Developer Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Contributes to, supports or uses open-source projects - has an active GitHub account.
