EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Permanent Full-Time Position
Salary Range: $102,900 - $181,000
Starting salary commensurate with relevant experience
PRIMARY CARE NETWORKS
Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are not-for-profit organizations and collaborations
between local physician groups and Alberta Health Services to enhance
comprehensive primary care services in a geographic area. The Calgary Rural PCN
(CRPCN) was established in 2005, and represents 147 physicians and 7 nurse practitioners across 41 clinics and employs 87 staff to serve more than 135,000 residents in the communities of Arrowwood, Black Diamond, Bragg Creek, Chestermere, Claresholm, Eden Valley, Gleichen, High River, Langdon, Nanton, Okotoks, Siksika First Nation, Strathmore, and Vulcan. Our mission is to engage and support people through their health journey by facilitating comprehensive and coordinated team-based care in our communities.
THE POSITION
The Executive Director is the senior executive officer of the Primary Care Network and reports to the Board of the PCN. The Executive Director is accountable for leading the operational team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of PCN programs and services in support of the vision, mission and business plan of the PCN. The Executive Director will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and leaders to provide leadership and oversight to all PCN programs and services. The Executive Director establishes and maintains positive relationships with key local, provincial and national representatives and health care stakeholders including government departments and officials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR INCLUDE:
- Development of PCN Strategy and Business Plans,
- Extensive collaboration with joint partners and other key stakeholders within the PCN and across the Zone,
- Leading the process of development and management of the PCN budget,
- Service program planning, implementation, and evaluation,
- Development and support of quality assurance and risk management strategies and,
- Management of a multidisciplinary team of professionals and support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The candidate should have proven strategic thinking, leadership, and business acumen, together with experience in system-level thinking, consensus building and conflict resolution.
- Five or more years of leadership and management experience, demonstrating advancement in responsibility preferred, ten or more years is an asset.
- Five or more years recent experience at various levels of the Alberta health care system is preferred, ten or more years is an asset.
- Graduate degree/education in a health-related field is preferred.
- Experience in board relationships, business operations, information technology, project/change management, financial management, data analytics, human resources, communication and relationship building is preferred.
- A demonstrated background of building high-performing multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholder relationships will be regarded highly.
