The Cyber Security Analyst role is a new position and will provide operational support for all areas of Giant Tiger’s cyber roadmap. As a key resource contributing to the prevention of security incidents the Cyber Security Analyst will deliver employee awareness and training, monitor and respond to security events using a variety of cloud platforms. They must have a basic knowledge of computing technology, have a genuine interest in cybersecurity and be enthusiastic about learning new things. This role is for an energetic individual comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with considerable variety. The Cyber Security Analyst should be able to work under moderate supervision and contribute to the improvement of our programs and postures with creative ideas and suggestions.

Cyber Security Analyst – Role Accountabilities
To deliver cybersecurity awareness and training to Giant Tiger employees such as conducting phishing simulation training on a regular basis, draft awareness communiques for delivery through other GT channels (GT in the Know, Tiger Tales) and prepare awareness presentation decks. To perform cyber security operations activities such as triage and respond to cyber security alerts, tune and adjust security alerts on monitoring platforms and generate performance metrics on security operations. To conduct cyber testing such as executing test cases for online applications and hands on testing of endpoint computers and devices for security weaknesses. To audit cyber security settings and agreements such as reviewing software contracts for security clauses, audit security controls for compliance to Giant Tiger policies and conduct regular reviews of accounts and assigned privileges.
Cyber Security Analyst – Key Qualifications
A University degree or a College diploma, ideally in Computer Science, Business or Engineering
3 to 5 years' experience in information technology over at least 2 different areas (ex: desktop support, server support, application development, customer service)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Active Directory
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently
Experience in Google Cloud Platform
Experience with any Security Incident and Event Monitoring platform
