POSITION: Commissionaire – Quinte Consolidated Courthouse (QCC)

LOCATION: 15 Bridge St W, Belleville, ON

HOURS : F/T, 24/7 compressed work week schedule, hours subject to change

EFFECTIVE: Immediate opening

JOB SUMMARY: Maintaining the safety of person(s), their property and protecting the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse from illegal activity by providing site security in co-operation with the Belleville Police Service and the Ministry of the Attorney General

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Must possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

· Must be competent and effective working in a team environment and alone during non-Core hours

· Must have ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively

· Must possess excellent computer skills

· Experience with CCTV monitoring and Surveillance systems

· Veteran preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Take direction from the Belleville Police Service (BPS)

· Perform daily hand-overs with the BPS ensuring handovers are recorded in the daily Guard Report

· Perform access control functions including the operation and management of a staff identification system for MAG and non-MAG staff, temporary staff and sub-contractors working on-site

· Engage the BPS regarding any security breach, illegal activity, security issues or suspicious activity

· Conduct random, frequent security patrols as required.

· Immediately report damages to the site, tampering, mechanical breakdowns or issues, facility alarms

· Respond to alarms or requests for assistance, engaging and assisting the BPS as required

· Monitor firefighting equipment

· Secure doors and windows and switch off lights

· Monitor and operate surveillance and alarm systems

· Complete daily Guard Reports and Incident Report as

· Maintain and manage access device controls including keys and access cards

· Comply with MAG policies

· Administer scheduled locking and unlocking routines

· Administer and manage Lost and Found Property

NOTE: This is a physically demanding site. Must be physically able to walk extensively and negotiate several flights of stairs without impediment. Although the Commissionaires will not manage person(s) in custody, person(s) in custody will be within the facility during core hours
