Current Job Site: Penticton – Kelowna, B.C.
Job Description:
Journeyman/Apprentice carpenter is to be involved in new construction, renovation and maintenance of sophisticated and cutting-edge facilities. The candidate will work closely with the construction superintendent and other carpenters. Must be willing to travel between Kelowna to Oliver at various job site locations. 40 hours a week with occasional overtime.
Job Duties:
- Read and understand blueprints
- Erect concrete formwork, pour concrete and strip formwork
- Finish concrete (minor quantities like housekeeping pads)
- Wood framing and sheathing
- Build mock-ups
- Assist with loading/unloading materials
- Build temporary structures
- Install door frames, backings, grout baseplates and other miscellaneous duties as required
- Clean up as required
Bonus:
- Finish carpentry is an asset
- OFA 1 or 2 is an asset
- AWP & Fall Arrest certificate an asset
Job Qualifications:
- Journeyman carpenter ticket preferred
- Experience in commercial and residential construction
- Valid driver’s license
- High level of attention to detail
- Desire to learn and develop
Physical Requirements:
- Work collaboratively and solely as required
- Stand/walk/crouch/kneel for long period of time
- Lift and carry materials weighting up to 50 lbs, occasionally more than 50 lbs with assistance
