Bookkeeper Job at wm+a
Reporting to the Controller, the Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the books of account, including but not limited to invoicing, vendor payments, accounts receivables and payables, preparing deposits and journal entries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes day-to-day accounting functions
- Sends out monthly invoices to customers and monitors payment
- Processes daily accounts receivable functions
- Prepares deposits of funds received
- Processes vendor payments
- Completes bank reconciliation and intercompany transactions
- Customer service including handling customer inquiries and problem solving
- Performs other duties as required
Finance team works predominantly on-site with situational and occasional remote work. It is a permanent full-time position Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Bookkeeping role is an integral part of our service delivery. It demands an energetic and organized individual, with experience in accounting functions and ideally with knowledge of the Social Services/Developmental Services/Health sector. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a very fast paced environment, be able to multi-task effectively and work independently as well as part of a team.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- University or college degree in finance/accounting
- Minimum 3 years accounting experience
- Experience working with Sage is preferred
- Excellent knowledge of computer programs including excel
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Works well in a fast paced, interactive team environment
