Amherst Supply Ltd. is a family-owned and operated store in the lumber, building supply, and agricultural feed industry. We are looking for a conscientious, thorough, fast learning, and organized individual to help in the day-to-day accounting operations of our new location on Alma Street in Amherstburg!

Requirements the candidate MUST have:

1) Three years of retail accounting experience

2) Thorough working knowledge of Sage Simply Accounting

3) A permanent resident or citizen of Canada

The incumbent will be responsible for all of the accounting information input including:

  • receivables and payables
  • purchasing
  • sales
  • banking
  • deposits
  • ensuring all statements are accurate
  • managing customer accounts and collections
  • organizing, maintaining, and accurately filing all financial records and sales documents
  • assisting in inventory control, stock counts and adjustments
  • monthly and year end filings up to and including submission to accounting firm
  • reconciliations
  • establishing and maintaining internal controls
  • developing reporting standards for future use within the organization
  • Preparing audit reports
  • Preparing financial documents for the government, the organization or other governing bodies

  • An excellent knowledge of finance and accounting

The skills required for this position are normally acquired through a three year college program in Accounting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
